Since I live and work in the Village of Milford, Michigan, it should come as no great surprise that I think it is one of the most wonderful places in Michigan to live. If you have some idealized view of life in “small town America” (sort of a Mayberry RFD thing), then the Village of Milford for you.

Milford is one of those places that always seems to have something going on. About 8 times a year we block off Main street for a parade or a festival of some sort. We have three major parades - Memorial Day, The 4th of July and the Christmas Parade (the  weekend after Thanksgiving).
Then there are the minor parades - The Little League Parade of Teams, the Milford High Homecoming Parade, and others.  And there is the annual Milford Memories street festival, the Milford Historical Society’s Home tour, the annual Milford Car Show, the Tractor Show, and much more.

It’s a great family place to live, because the kids are always included - there’s even the annual Halloween event where the downtown merchants hand out candy as the children parade downtown in costume.

So, visit the links below for more details on the Village of Milford and the various organizations that make it such a great place to live.

Milford has gained a well deserved reputation as a place to go for “destination restaurants”. We have 3 destination restaurants in the village, including the restaurant named “Best in Detroit” in 2005 - The Five Lakes Grill.  The other two are Appeteaser and Gravity Bar & Grill.

Standing in the middle of  town, one can walk to 15 restaurants, with fares ranging from Coney dogs to haute cuisine.  Click here for a list of Milford’s restaurants.
